Environmental Impact Assessment

Environmental Impact Assessment

ERM Hong Kong appointed by CEM have conducted the environmental impact assessment (EIA) studies to assess the possible environmental impact due to the construction and operation of the DDD, such as water quality, noise, dust and waste management, and to recommend mitigation measures according to the "Instruções para protecção ambiental" published by DSPA.

The EIA report was approved by DSPA on 1 September 2016. It concluded that implementation of this Project is in line with the Macau SAR Government’s policy objective of optimising land use on the crowded Macau peninsula. With the implementation of recommended good construction site practices and mitigation measures, no adverse residual impacts due to the Project are envisaged. This EIA study has therefore confirmed the overall acceptability of the environmental impacts likely to arise due to the DDD works. An environmental monitoring and audit (EM&A) programme (including regular environmental monitoring and site audit) has been implemented to verify the impacts predicted of the EIA study and to ensure the recommended mitigation measures are properly executed by the Project Proponent.
